Hosting With Heart ❤️
One of the greatest joys of running Bliss Home is the wonderful people I have the privilege of meeting from all around the world.
Over the years, guests from countries including the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, the USA, Australia and many others have arrived as visitors and often left feeling more like friends. Some have even stayed in touch long after returning home.
One particularly special group of guests affectionately nicknamed me "Mum" during their stay because I was always looking out for them. Whether reminding them to wear sunscreen on a sunny day, helping them plan their adventures or making sure they were comfortable, caring for people has always come naturally to me.
At their request, I took them to some of my favourite local places, including a magnificent hand-carved Hindu temple built using traditional craftsmanship from India. The temple took many years to complete and remains one of the area's hidden treasures. Together we explored the intricate carvings, stories, deities and works of art while sharing conversations and taking photographs along the way.
Their London adventure also included visits to the RAF Museum, Abbey Road and several local attractions that many visitors would never normally discover. As someone who loves photography, I enjoyed capturing special moments and creating memories that would last long after the holiday had ended.
One of my most treasured memories was organising a surprise birthday dinner for a wonderful guest celebrating her 70th birthday. Seeing her happiness and gratitude touched my heart deeply. When it was time to say goodbye, there were tears of joy and hugs all around – a reminder that genuine human connection is one of life's greatest gifts.
In a city as busy as London, where everyone is often rushing from place to place, I wanted Bliss Home to be something different. A place where guests can feel welcomed, valued and cared for.
I completely understand that every guest is unique. Some guests love conversation, local recommendations and shared experiences, while others simply want peace, privacy and a quiet place to recharge. My hosting philosophy is simple:
